JOB SUMMARY The Communications Intern will contribute to CureSearchs goals by supporting marketing and communication strategies and promoting CureSearch through digital marketing, public relations, content creation and project management. The Communication Interns assignments will call on an individuals communication, organization and creative problem-solving skills.The role is unpaid but includes a $500 stipend.Whenever applicable, CureSearch will work with an Interns school to meet course credit requirements. This role is remote and part-time-- you may work from home or other alternate location. It is part-time and the hours somewhat flexible so as to allow the successful candidate to pursue additional employment. Please submit a cover letterwith your resume. POSSIBLE AREAS OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF COMMUNICATIONS STAFF * Assist in the creation and execution of a multi-layered promotional strategy related to Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. * Assist in the development and execution of tactics for increasing campaign event participation, revenue growth, community awareness and volunteer engagement. * Assist Campaign and Communications staff in the generation of event media coverage via social media promotion, the creation and distribution of press releases, and other outreach to local and regional communication outlets. * Assist in the creation of reports, blog entries, brochures/flyers, videos, emails, and other promotional content or assets. * Assist in providing copy and graphics for website content. * Track and organize pick-ups and features in all forms of media. * Monitor influencer blogs and other news about childrens cancer research and other foundations and take appropriate action. * Research best practices and trends in nonprofit marketing and communication methods. POSITION REQUIREMENTS * The ability to set and meet goals in a timely manner, have strong communications skills, be available at least 20/hrs per week and, above all, have a desire to make a difference. * Knowledge of social media platforms and their respective participants/audiences. * Strong writing skills in both storytelling and professional formats. * High school diploma and some college. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * While performing the duties of this internship, the intern is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, stoop or kneel. Some of the work of this role may be performed outdoors in varying climate and conditions. * Intern will constantly require the ability to talk, hear, and operate a computer. * Able to lift 25 - 30 lbs and perform basic set up & take down of event equipment (folding tables, loading/unloading and moving boxes, setting up displays, etc).
