Harvest Intern jeremy Wine Company - Lodi, CA 13 hours agoTemporary$15 an hour Apply Now Skills * Clean Driving Record * Forklift * Driver's License Harvest Internship: Our Company & General Job Description: Jeremy Wine Company is a small winery dedicated to the craft of fine winemaking, producing a broad range of varietals from the Lodi appellation and beyond. We are seeking a Harvest Intern to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a positive, can do attitude with a curiosity to learn and a passion for the craft of fine wine. Description, Duties, and Responsibilities: As a cellar worker, you will work under the direction of our Cellar Master and Cellar Foreman. You will be working side-by-side with them, assisting with all aspects of the winemaking processes. A strong eye for detail and a drive for a clean, organized winery environment are a must.The ideal candidate must be able to perform the following duties to a very high industry standard, including but not limited to: * Grape receiving, sorting and processing * Juice and wine rackings and transfers * Daily pump-overs and punch-downs * Cleaning and sanitation of equipment * Wine barrel maintenance, preparation and filling * Forklift driving * Daily fermentation checks (Brix and Temps) * Pulling samples for lab analyses * Assisting with maintaining and cleaning the lab and production area * Following written and verbal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) * Shipping/receiving various materials from trucks * Sanitizing empty wine tanks * Cleaning pumps, hoses, and fittings * Operating filtration equipment * Bottling and kegging operations * Making additions to wine * Forklift work including moving and stacking wine barrels * Loading and unloading equipment from trucks & trailers * Pressure washing winery floors and tank exteriors * Keeping equipment sanitized * General cellar house-keeping Qualifications: * Forklift experience desired * Ability to commit to working full-time plus extended hours during various periods of the year * Ability to be highly organized with acute attention to details * Ability to perform basic math * Ability to communicate effectively in English * Ability to multitask and work safely in a fast-paced environment * Ability to work flexible and extended hours on short notice * Must have a valid drivers license with good driving record * Must be at least 21 years of age and have legal United States work status Work Environment Requirements: * Ability to work in confined spaces and high places * Ability to stand for long periods of time * Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly * Ability to work with chemicals that require protective equipment (goggles, gloves, etc.) * Ability to sit, stand, and walk on uneven surfaces for extended periods of time * Ability to perform work duties inside and outdoors This is a full time position from mid-August - late November. Hourly pay depending upon experience. Job Type: Temporary Salary: $15.00 /hour Pay Frequency: * Bi weekly or Twice monthly
