Public Relations Intern Hope Clinic for Women Date Posted: Thursday, May 16, 2019 Current Posting Expires: 7/15/2019 Position Description - Responsibilities and Requirements: Hope Clinic for Women Public Relations Intern Position Title: Public Relations Intern (Paid) Position Type: Part-time, 10 hours per week during normal business hours Reports To: Outreach Manager Mission Hope Clinic for Women is a faith-based, safe and confidential place for anyone dealing with life choices regarding past, present and future pregnancies. We provide education, counsel and medical care for anyone regardless of age, race or religion. Vision Hope Clinic for Women is a Christ centered ministry existing to honor the sanctity of all human life as exemplified by: * Teenagers and single adults choosing abstinence until marriage; * Women and men choosing life for their child in the midst of a pregnancy; * People experiencing Gods grace and forgiveness after an abortion; * The transformation of hearts and lives by discovering the purpose and potential God intended for all His children. Position Description: The Public Relations Intern will: * Create media lists and establish relationships with media contacts * Write and distribute press releases * Write and distribute media advisories for Hope Clinic annual events * Write and post blog posts related to Hope Clinics mission and services * Build personal brand presence for Hope Clinic CEO and key staff members * Assist Community Relations Manager in organizing and developing content for staff media training * Assist in generating media coverage and tracking coverage to support strategic plan goals * Assist with community education and engagement through community health and church fairs * Position Hope Clinic as the go-to source for media outlets on: unplanned pregnancy, all forms of pregnancy loss, womens health, maternal health, infant safety/health, new parent education, car seat safety, mental health as related to maternal health, prevention education, nonprofit management Meetings: * Quarterly Staff retreats (usually on a Friday, 8:30-2:30); * All staff are required to work a 4-6-hour shift for key agency-wide fundraising events. This will either be a mix of set-up/during or clean up. Events include: Annual Gala and Cider Carols. Required Qualifications/Skills: * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Experience writing press releases and media advisories and communicating with media * Knowledge of public relations principles and AP style * Experience with Google and Office suites with ability to learn new reporting programs * Well-organized and detail-oriented Preferred Qualifications/Skills: * Previous internship or work experience related to public relations * Familiarity with PR database programs * Independent worker * Passion for Hope Clinic for Womens mission and vision * Reliable transportation available Required education/licensure: * Pursuing Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Communication, Writing, or related field Job Type: Contract/Temp Job Categories: * Communications/Marketing * Public Relations * Student
