Eligibility: You mustbe enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program at the time of the internship. If you've graduated, we cannot accept your application. Preferred Majors: Marketing, Communications, Social Media, Marketing Data, Statistics Duration: Our unpaid Student Internship Program typically runs for a specified 10 to 12-week duration. Alternative start and end dates may be accommodated at the discretion of the business unit. * Start: Monday, June 3, 2019 * End: Friday, August 9, 2019 * Weekly Internship Hours: This internship is part-time and required hours vary by business unit, however, the range is typically 15 to 20 hours per week for our Summer Cycle. Internship Opportunities: Intern, Web Analytics and Marketing, NYC (Mission Concept: "Communicate Our Mission") This Mission Concept is for students who are strong public speakers, excellent writers, and savvy about social media and analyzing social media data. You want to be part of communicating the Red Cross mission behind-the-scenes, on-camera, in-person and online through media. This internship providesexposure to all facets of Red Cross operations, from Biomedical Services to Disaster Services to Fundraising. Thisintern will gain knowledge and experience onhow the organization can effectively use marketing intelligence to better communicate with our supporters, raise more money, help more people in a disaster, solicit more blood donations, and more. Data is becoming more central to marketing at The American Red Cross and t*his internship is ideal for any candidate who has an interest and aptitude for marketing AND data sciences, such as statistics, database management and/or computer sciences.* This intern will join the Red Cross Marketing Team and workacross all Red Cross service of lines on the following projects: * Plan, coordinate and launch strategic marketing initiatives across advertising and partnership channels * Project manage the execution of site updates, email campaigns and digital marketing programs. * Provide support to organizational events (i.e., Annual Red Cross Galas, fundraising events, Volunteer Recognition Event) * Support Red Cross social networking activities (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) * Additional administrative assistance as needed Special Skills: * Strong familiarity with Search Engine Optimization * Stong familiarity with Web Analytics and data interpretation preferred * Strong writing skills, with experience writing, formatting, and posting clear content intern will be asked to submit writing samples * Intermediate to advanced proficiency with social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat * Strong Photography/Videography skills preferred Our Ideal Candidate: Our ideal candidate is a mission-focused Undergraduate or Graduate college student seeking a meaningful internship experience who has the following qualities: * Upbeat * Detail Oriented * Multi-Tasker * Strong Communicator * Team Builder/Player * Self-Starter * Client-Focused * Strategic Thinker * No-task-is too-small attitude What Youll Learn: In our region, you will enjoy a collaborative work culture committed to the diversity of our people, programs, and services.
