HJF is seeking a Clinical Research Intern to support the Gynecologic Cancer Center of Excellence (GynCoE)in Annandale, VA. Responsibilities include implementation of recruitment strategies, outreach and support for study participants to complete research forms, build out of relational database projects and forms, abstraction and management of data and reports, assist supervisor and team members with prospective and retrospective research and to provide support in various areas as needed. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to GynCoE. Responsibilities: 1. Implement recruitment strategies 2. Build out relational database projects and forms 3. Abstract and manage data. 4. Redact and organize PDF reports. 5. Organize and manage electronic research records, online registry records and/or paper research charts. 6. Run queries and generate reports. 7. Import and export data. 8. Perform quality assurance routines. 9. Summarize data written and visual formats 10. Assists in general organization and efforts to improve efficiency and quality as needed. 11. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of clinical environments, research processes, and research involving human subjects; Skills working with computers, medical records, protecting patient privacy and confidentiality, and performing data management duties; Effective listening and communication skills; Abilities managing details, following directions, working independently, contributing to team activities, and meeting goals and deadlines. Minimum Education/Training Requirements: High School Diploma required; Good grades in college level courses in liberal arts, science, mathematics, health care profession, social sciences, computer science or another area of study; Strong letters of recommendation; Willing to complete human subject protection training and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) training, and develop competency using REDCap, EPIC, WordPress websites, Gravity Forms, Google Documents, and other relational database systems, software or applications. Minimum Experience: 0 to 2 years experience Physical Capabilities: Handle and organize electronic and paper research charts; requires long periods of standing, working at a computer and/or preparing documents for scanning, redaction and abstraction.
