SUMMER FESTIVAL TECHNICAL INTERN/FELLOW (Short-Term) Playwrights Foundation - San Francisco, CA 94103 Part-time, Internship SUMMER FESTIVAL TECHNICAL INTERN/FELLOW (Short-Term): Playwrights Foundation (PF), a center for new play development in San Francisco, is looking for two enthusiastic, ambitious, and resourceful interns to assist with our 2019 Bay Area Playwrights Festival. PF is part of an extensive national creative community, with a strong presence in the Bay Area and national theater scene. This position is designed for early career theater technicians with a broad interest in technical fields, particularly lighting, scenic, and stage management. Working with the rest of the technical team, this role helps prepare the performance venue and acts as a performance stage manager by calling cues during assigned shows. Successful applicants need not have experience in all theater fields?only a willingness to learn and enthusiasm for supporting the artistic process. Housing is not provided. Hours/Duration: 7/14 7/29, approx. 20 - 25 hours a week. A schedule will be discussed in the interview process. Core Skills and Qualifications * Strong organizational and paperwork skills. * A calm head under pressure. * Ability to prioritize and problem-solve to keep a performance on schedule. * Experience with cue-calling and/or light/sound board operation desirable. * Strong communication skills, including demonstrated and effective writing and. speaking. * A fine attention to detail. * Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps and Docs. * Reliable. Interns are responsible for getting themselves to and from work on time.
