No Description of the Job VCU DAR Communications seeks a highly motivated and enthusiastic social media intern. DAR Communications works with internal and external partners to engage alumni and donors on various social media channels while ensuring compliance with VCU social media guidelines. The intern will be an active contributor in day-to-day social media communications, will explore and identify ways to integrate social media into existing communications plans and marketing campaigns, and will assist with developing ideas for engaging micro-campaigns. General duties include: * Create and post engaging blog and social media content. * Collaborate with digital media specialist to conceptualize and create content for micro-campaigns. * Research best practices and resources to further refine social media strategies. * Monitor analytics with social media team to identify viable ideas. Required Qualifications * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Skilled in social media content creation and working knowledge of primary social channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc. * Ability to be highly creative, applying ideas and inspirations to assignments * Strong storytelling and digital presentation skills * Experience with social media analytics (Google Analytics and Facebook Insights) * Ability to work in a diverse environment
