Fairport, NY is the headquarters for the Bosch Security Systems sales organization in the United States and serves as the primary site for research and development, engineering, quality and product management for intrusion detection systems, including state-of-the-art sensors, control panels, communicators and more Job Description The Software Engineer Intern will be involved in the design, development, and testing of software for web services and applications. In this internship, you will actively participate in a structured product development process which encompasses technical requirements development; software and architecture design, software implementation, verification and launch to mass production. This internship offers the opportunity to work in a team environment with individuals and groups located worldwide. It is intended that this is a 6 month - full time assignment, typically working on average at least 40 hours a week. Typical Job Duties Participate in requirements engineering activities. Collaboration with internal customers to define and set expectations. Provide object oriented software designs and develop unit-test driven RESTful web services and web APIs in both C# .Net Framework and .Net Core that integrates with databases, Azure cloud, web services, Web and console applications. Implement authentication in integration with Azure and Swagger tool for all the .Net Framework and .Net Core 2.0 using OWIN library for multiple Web APIs to ensure that the information remains confidential. Participate in technical project reviews and code reviews. Collaborate with the Global developer team to work on Continuous Integration, automated builds on Microsofts Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Continuous Delivery pipeline. Maintain the web services, databases and web applications to ensure strong functionality and optimization in TFS. Modify existing software to fix the errors, adapt to new interfaces and improve product performance. Qualifications Target start of the internship is Spring-Summer or Summer-Fall semesters (6+ month duration) Full-time internship, requiring 40 hours/week To qualify for this internship, you must: Be pursuing BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or other related technology field. Bring collegiate level Experience in: Web development (.NET / .NET Core, Azure Cloud, CSS, React.js, C#) Have experience using Visual Studio or at least one alternative IDE Awareness to, and ideally experience with, agile development methods (Scrum, test-driven development, etc.) Have some unit and integration testing experience to include automation of test procedures Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is essential. To be successful in this internship, you must have a high level of self-motivation, a drive for self-development and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
