Diversity & Public Affairs Intern Johnson Controls - Milwaukee, WI3.8 8 hours agoFull-time Apply Now Skills * Microsoft Project * Proofreading * Project Management * Microsoft Office * Excel What you will do: Support the Diversity & Public Affairs department in the corporate office of the company with primary activities in the global public affairs area. This internship opportunity will support the Global Public Affairs Manager to review and implement programs and associated communications as well as various activities to support other individuals in the department. How you will do it: Review global employee volunteer program applications; communicate with employee applicants to obtain information to complete applications; review status of applications with program manager. Research and write employee portal (Intranet) stories highlighting program successes (i.e. employee volunteer activities, company award recognition, global philanthropy programs, etc.� Create analysis spreadsheet of employee volunteer program trends through use of Excel spreadsheet Create updated documents for sustainability reporting i.e. manage list of awards the company has received; gathering updated logos from such awards to be posted to company web site, etc. Work with internal communications teams and employee communications department to create compelling and creative emails/communication pieces to promote internal programs for employees Work with internal teams create and update communications materials; work with external communications agencies to design fact sheets; posters; etc. and manage related translation work with external agency. Be able to proofread such communications materials for accuracy. Manage updates to the employee portal pages (using software that you will be trained on) Organize Conservation Leadership Corps student visit (about 60 students) to the companys campus in July or August; coordinate entire day with other student interns at the company; coordinate internal speakers; materials; schedule; catering; etc. Respond to internal customer inquiries (via email) about global employee volunteer program Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal team and external agencies Perform other similar duties as required Qualifications What we look for Currently enrolled as a part-time or full-time student; need to be able to work full time over the summer GPA of 3.5 or higher Pursuing a major in Communications, Public Relations or International Business Excellent English language skills written and verbal Advanced computer skills including Microsoft office Strong project management skills Detail oriented, initiative and discretion and customer service focus required Ability to handle confidential information. Flexible team player with good interpersonal skills, proactive and open-minded Experience in writing and proofreading an advantage, eg story writing, letter writing, brochure writing, marketing communications, etc. Experience with content management systems (CMS) an advantage Job Administration Primary LocationUS-WI-Milwaukee Organization Corporate Overtime Status-Non-exempt
