Health Education Specialist and Leadership Intern-UNPAID The O.M.A.R.E. Health Wellness and Resource Center, II Inc. - Mableton, GA 30126 $0 a month Part-time, Internship General Description: The Health Education Specialist and Leadership Intern will provide general assistance to The O.M.A.R.E. Center's Director to develop marketing materials, design a leadership symposium, design and create health education workshops, make presentations, actively participate in organization events/programs, assist with social media activities, and provide exhibit coverage. Other similar duties may be assigned as needed. Candidates should have general health education and health promotion skills/knowledge, be creative and innovative with a passion for helping others. This is an Unpaid position . Responsibilities: The Health Education Specialist and Leadership Intern will be responsible for assisting The O.M.A.R.E. Centers Director in creating marketing materials, designing a youth and young adult leadership symposium, formulating and implementing workshop content, and presenting on health education topic areas. This individual will also participate in organization events playing an active role with mentoring programs, social media promotion/recruitment and providing exhibit coverage. Other similar program related duties may be assigned as needed. Knowledge, Skill and Abilities Ability to communicate well orally and in writing, via phone, email and face to face; establish rapport with program participants and other community members. Outgoing and excited about helping others. Use of Microsoft Office Programs and Applications Proficient in Google Docs, Google Apps, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social medical channels Working knowledge of principles in health education, health promotion, life skills and wellness education concepts required Required Education Candidates should be seeking a Bachelors or Masters degree in Public Health, Health Promotion or an Allied Health Field, with some completed course work specific to public health, health promotion, health education or social science fields.
