The team is responsible for the application design of axle drives/differentials as well as providing localized support for testing and NVH. The Intern supports day to day work on new and existing axle drives with their design and testing activities. The intern will work in a cross-functional environment that collaborates with various engineering and production facilities in North America and Germany. Position Responsibilities: * Support to set up process for axle testing by generating processes and templates for new test operation * Support application engineering of axle drives (e.g. introduction process of design changes). Independently create presentations with complex technical contents * Test data evaluation and processing * Perform statistical analyses * Support all design activities including new axle concepts, component optimizations and clearance evaluations with the CAD software Creo. * Support local engineering team in discussion with customers, suppliers, and internal departments such as sales, purchasing, and quality. * Perform other duties as assigned.
