Woodworking Apprentice - Shop Assistant - Woodworker Contemporary Woods Furniture - Lincoln, NE 16 hours agoPart-time$9 - $13 an hour Skills * Lean Manufacturing * Forklift Contemporary Woods - Lincolns Foremost Custom Furniture Maker is looking for an experienced Fine Woodworker who is a highly motivated, understands the importance of quality communication, works with integrity, and is detail oriented. Contemporary Woods has been delivering high quality custom furniture, Cabinetry and Built-in Wood products to commercial and residential clients for over 38 years and will continue to do so. We are looking for that driven person who wants to join a team practicing 2 Second LEAN Manufacturing, that is ready for continuous team and personal improving. We work every day being the foremost furniture maker in Nebraska. Experience in furniture building, cabinet making, woodworking, or trim carpentry preferred. Job Objective * To help facilitate the production of high quality, durable, custom, functional, handcrafted, furniture, and wood products. * To ensure every order that goes through production, helps brand Contemporary Woods as the foremost furniture maker in Nebraska Duties and Tasks critical to success * Reading and understanding drawings for construction for all parts and pieces within the unit being built. * Use nail guns, drills, and other equipment to properly build our products, which have to meet our warranty period. Including Laminating materials * Help the team Meet and exceed all production goals including project deadlines. * Be a flexible team member able to help out in any different department and being able to work under changing priorities Product work Flow * Raw material processing: * Un-loading and storing of various types of wood and sheet-good material. * Able to identify and differentiate between many different common wood types that are used in our shop * Sort and select cut lumber and sheet materials to meet the project specifics * Process parts and accessories through the assembly department as listed on the blueprints, drawings and other related paperwork. * Regular Shop maintenance and Cleaning * Forklift operation for handling materials. * Helping on Deliveries * Working with customer's in the shop or in their home on deliveries or during the building process.
