Zepto Life Technology is currently looking for an Assay Development Intern to join our growing team. This role contributes to the development of sensing and assay platforms. The ideal applicant has experience with sequence alignment. Summary The Assay Development Intern assists the Assay Development team in developing new product concepts including proprietary assay and sensing platforms. Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Work with fast-paced and innovative group to develop sensing and assay platforms. * Develop and validate nucleic acids-based biomarker assay in microfluidic devices. * Identify and implement new product concepts to produce new proprietary assays. * Maintain an awareness of the literature and other sources of information to remain current with developments in the area of functional products of interest to Zepto. * Keep a neat and orderly notebook containing a record of all work done. Maintain other records as necessary to support patent applications for innovative products. * Maintain timely documentation of work. * Evaluate data, prepare technical reports, and make scientific presentations. * Carry out communal duties as required. Required Education and Experience * MS or Ph. D. in Bioinformatics, molecular biology, genetics, or related field. Preferred Education and Experience * Strong understanding in genetics and nucleic acid biomarkers. * Proven ability to perform complex laboratory protocols successfully, work with team and complete data collection, analysis, and presentation. * Ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary team setting and collaborate with senior and junior scientists and engineers/chemists/biologists. * Experience with microfluidic devices * Experiencxe with sequence alignment, genome assembly and analysis. * Experience with magnetic beads (micro/nano-size) conjugation with bio-molecules or beads-based assays. * Experience with Illumina Sequence Data.
