Job Description: Omitron has a full-time position for a Program Support Specialist Internship that will focus on documentation, technical writing, and procurement for the Flight Dynamic Support Services Contract. Documentation support includes reviewing, editing, tracking, and maintaining document metrics; and ensuring documentation effectively communicates technical information. Procurement support includes managing, coordinating, and controlling all purchases of hardware and software for numerous complex engineering projects. The position requires exceptional organization and multi-tasking skills. Specific areas of support will include: Research, evaluate, and recommend new documentation tools and support methods Develop processes and methodologies to maintain the integrity of documentation Train others on documentation processes and standards Maintain a master inventory and configuration management document repository Develop, gather, and disseminate technical information in the form of user guides, configuration management manuals, instruction manuals and standard operating procedures Ensure timely review and dissemination of controlled documents Work collaboratively with document authors to resolve quality issues including managers, staff, and subject matter experts Manage the projects procurement program according to project requirements, industry best practices, and established corporate procedures Collaborate with project managers to identify upcoming procurement and associated timelines Coordinate, manage, and control purchases of all hardware and software for the program Track the review, delivery, and receipt of hardware and software acquisitions Establish the required reports to track progress or report issues, as encountered Develop effective rhythms to keep project managers, senior management, and vendors informed of procurement progress Define, analyze, and present procurement metrics as part of continual service improvement. US citizenship required / EEO/AA / E-Verify Participation Skill Requirements: Experience in Adobe and MS Products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Advance knowledge of the English language (writing sample may be required) Familiarity with user documentation standards such as ISO/IEC JTC1/Sc7/WG2 Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts, making them easily understandable to a wide range of audiences Experience and direct knowledge in document change control and management Experience managing procurements for a large-scale, complex engineering or technical project Ability to mix experience and knowledge of best practices with out-of-the-box thinking Organization and project management skills Excellent oral and written communications skills to interact with all levels of an organization Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team environment Required Degree & Experience: Bachelors degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or Business Administration Experience editing and proofing complex documents Experience performing procurement activities Knowledge in specialized field of engineering, computer science or software development Job Location: Greenbelt, MD (NASA Goddard Space Flight Center) Security Clearance Requirements: US Citizenship
