Description: The MITRE Charlottesville Team is looking for top students with multiple software development programming skills to participate in small cell team of analysts and engineers to rapidly iterate on software projects and develop prototype capabilities. Students will work on real projects with immediate and direct impact to the government.As a member of our Mission-focused software engineering team, you will have opportunities to support a diverse set of sponsors within the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. Key Functions Include: * You will develop software solutions by analyzing information needs, conferring with users and other team members, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes and investigating problem areas within the software development life-cycle. * You may troubleshoot complex software systems that run mixed-environments including Linux, Unix and/or Windows. * You will be expected to maintain cutting-edge software development expertise by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment. * You will have the opportunity to participate in research activities to advance state-of-the-art software engineering practices and applications to sponsors' mission domains. * Participate in a small cell team of analysts and engineers to rapidly iterate on software projects. * Develop prototype capabilities to address sponsor's hard problems. * Expand, build and maintain relationships with customers throughout MITRE. * Develop and implement strategies to rapidly accredit and field new capabilities in challenging environments. Relevant knowledge that will improve your candidacy includes: * Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, to solve problems creatively and to effectively build partnerships. * Demonstrate ability to present information effectively to multiple sized audiences. * Familiarity with at least one, ideally multiple programming languages including C, C , Python and Java. * Continued record of academic excellence including a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with 3D printers and mechatronics. * Experience with robotic systems, in particular, UAVs/UASs/drones.
