# Internship - Special Events TheAmerican Diabetes Association is proud to announce the availability of aninternship with our Special Events team! This internship presents theopportunity to contribute to the Association's dynamic special events effortswhile gaining invaluable experience in public relations and communication. This internship is a great opportunity forsomeone pursuing a career in marketing, public health, nutrition, non-profitand/or event production. The ideal candidate must be energetic, a team player,results-oriented and dedicated to the achievement of personal and team goals.This internship requires a candidate with confidence in interpersonalcommunication and public speaking, excellent writing skills, and a passion formaking a difference in the lives of people with and affected by diabetes. **Responsibilities:** * Assist in mission outreach to donors, businesses, sponsors, and volunteers by phone and mail for engagement in the Associations signature events * Assist with mailings and package assembly * Utilizes social network platforms to promote events * Attend designated and promotional local Association events, and assist staff as necessary * Tackle area strategies through research * Other duties as assigned **Requirements:** * Commitment to a flexible work schedule of at least 15 hours per week during standard business hours, with occasional nights and weekends * A tech savvy approach and willingness to learn * Knowledge of event management preferred * Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills * Self-motivated, detail-oriented and strong organizational skills * Ability to work independently and with Association staff * Strong customer service skills **Primary Location: **US-OK-Tulsa **Work Locations: ** **Job: **Intern **Organization: **American Diabetes Association **Schedule: **Part-time **Job Type: **Internship **Job Posting: **May 22, 2019, 9:05:26 PM
