This program providesskills, compensation and assists local area high school students, who havea desire to pursue a science-based education, with the highschool-to-college transition. Successful candidates will participate inguided and independent laboratory tasks by performing the following duties.Dates, Hours, and Duration: The intern position is availableimmediately. The R.and.D Team works 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.This intern may work up to 10-15 hours a week during the summer; times areflexible based on the candidate's availability. The duration of thisinternship will be based on the individual's performance and fit within thecompany. As an intern, this position is not company benefit eligible.Minimum QualificationsCurrent high school student in their sophomore, Junior or Senior yearStrong emphasis in STEM classesAvailable for a minimum of 180 hours during the summerPreferred QualificationsResides in Northern ColoradoStrong math and science skillsExcellent communication skills both verbally and writtenAbility to work independently and in a group/team settingMust be able to set priorities and meet deadlinesExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsProficient with MS Office (emphasis on Excel), Gmail and Google DocsDuties and ResponsibilitiesWork directly with VP of R.and.D and Lab Manager a in developing reports of allproducts under development, and their stage of developmentAssist in the creation of research and development proposals such as theobjective or purpose of a project, applications that can be utilized fromfindings, costs of project, and equipmentWork under the direct supervision of the VP of R.and.D to develop new processesor methods that are consistent with developing innovative and technicallysuperior products and solutions that fulfill the strategic needs of thecompanyWork with the New Products/New Markets team through the Stage-Gate Processin order to execute product development plansConduct experimental procedures to investigate
