Do you have a passion for gifted and twice-exceptional kids? Great Minds Learning Community is a three-day micro-school located in Pflugerville that is tailored toward gifted and twice-exceptional kids (intellectually gifted plus learning differences/disabilities such as ADHD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, Asperger's, etc.). We're looking for a few unpaid interns to fill key roles. If you are pursuing a teaching degree, and/or have teaching experience and would like to intern in alternative education, micro-schools, or gifted and twice-exceptional kids, please read on. The Teaching Intern is a qualified student (all majors welcome) with an interest in learning about education and/or discovery-based, hands-on learning, gifted and/or twice-exceptional kids. The goal of the internship is to provide the student a meaningful internship experience in the functions and work of a teacher through mentoring and hands-on teaching/assisting activities to help you explore the field, get your questions answered, and gain valuable work experience and skills. We can work with your school regarding course credit. Part-time: 4-12 hours a week for a minimum of 6 weeks (longer preferred) Start date: Fall 2019, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays, flexible hours between 9:00 and 3:00.
