POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION: The candidate for this position will be providing technical BI development and analytical support to various components of the organization. The work will include reading or updating functional requirements. The candidate will extract data from various source systems by writing ETL code, using our internal tools supported by programming languages such as .net, java, SQL, among others. Once the data is extracted, the candidate will perform data analysis based on customer specifications. This position is a great opportunity for a self-directed, highly motivated individual to be involved with modern technology, supporting Business Intelligence and Analytics. Duration/Schedule: Flexible part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer months. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field with a status of at least a sophomore level Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher Proficient in Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Understanding of relational database concepts Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/assignments Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability Proven Analytical and Problem-solving skills with the ability to take ownership of a project delivering high quality results Basic understanding of SQL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong interest in the field of Business Intelligence and Analytics Experience analyzing a set of data based on customer requirements and reporting on observations Self-directed individual with strong ability to interact with a remote team Proficient in Java including any standard development framework, R/python is a plus Ability to effectively utilize collaboration and communication tools (instant messaging, email) Ability to read / write good functional and technical requirements Effective time management skills MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: Participate in Continuous Improvement projects. Assist in other projects and function as a resource for other team members. Maintain proper documentation Complete work timely with a high quality of code production Timely escalation and communication of issues Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description. Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements. POSITION CHALLENGES: Juggling multiple responsibilities and projects. Working independently with little direction. This position will require a steep learning curve but any candidate having experience with the technologies highlighted in the requirements should be able to quickly overcome
