Primary Responsibilities: * Work with lead engineer to build and test prototypes, and train operators for new production introductions. * Assists in developing physical and functional test requirements to assure specifications & regulations are met. * Executes design controls * Analyzes design inputs * Actively work to improve productivity and quality * Participates on cross-functional teams * Detail oriented, well organized. * Strong communication skills. * Self-motivated with thorough follow-through * Willing to complete general tasks not directly related to the job description * Initiates new or revised documentation and tracks through appropriate approval cycles and implementation Job Qualifications (Education/Skills/Experience): * Minimum related experience requirement: 0-2 years * Currently enrolled in a BS, MS, or Ph.D. academic program (Mechanical Engineering or related) * Must be enrolled in an engineering or technical discipline. Minimum 2 years of course work completion. * Minimum of 1 year of Solidworks experience * Excellent computer skills: MS Word, Excel and other Windows applications. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. * Strong analytical ability to solve programs and ability to learn quickly. * Ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams with minimum guidance. * Strong communication and team work skill * Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate across functional lines. * Ability to follow standards and procedures * Strong oral and written communication skills Physical Demands: * This position is in an office and/or laboratory environment and requires the individual to sit, stand and perform general office functions. The individual may also be required to lift up to thirty pounds. The individual may be required to stand for extended periods of time. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required. Hours: * Full-time during the summer with the opportunity to be part-time (flexible 12 to 20 hours per week) during the academic year Job Type: Internship Salary: $15.00 /hour Experience: * Solidworks: 1 year (Preferred) Education: * Bachelor's (Preferred)
