Summer Intern - Software and Web Developer HIGHER DIGITAL - McLean, VA 5 hours agoPart-time$15 - $25 an hour Skills * SQL * GitHub * Software Development * Visual Studio * HTML5 About HIGHER DIGITAL: HIGHER DIGITAL is currently seeking to add to its software development team with a Summer Intern position for a collegiate rising Junior or Senior Computer Science major or Liberal Arts major with some experience in software development. We are looking for a qualified intern to join us at the ground-level of a global, start-up software company. This paid-position will have exposure to all aspects of our business and this role will be given a lot of responsibility. We are a company who partners with organizations to create, build, and deliver what we believe are the world's best digital experiences and products. Specifically, we are looking for help with our ground-breaking cloud software service, (SEA)RESULTS, and are seeking an intern who physically resides in either the Philadelphia, PA or Washington, DC metro areas. You should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of product development, technology start-ups, and product strategy and planning. During this internship, candidates will have the opportunity to participate in meaningful work assignments to develop both professional and technical skills, while making contributions to the business. Interns in this program will gain valuable experience working as a team in a challenging and rewarding environment. They will be challenged to produce results and will working closely with the head of development to mentor and assist them in daily tasks. They will be given assignments that require research and trial and error to complete. Job Responsibilities: Higher Digital is looking for an undergraduate student who is majoring in Computer Science or Liberal Arts (English, History, etc.) and who has a deep passion for technology and is entrepreneurially driven. This person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extensive knowledge of software and Web. PowerPoint, Word and Excel experience are a bonus, and will be considered when choosing the best applicant for this internship position. Majors: Computer Science or Liberal Arts (English, History, etc.) with development experience. Qualifications: Potential candidates should also have the following: * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Strong desire to learn new technologies and skills * .NET experience (preferably C#) * Familiarity with Visual Studio * HTML, CSS, and Javascript experience * Must be a US Citizen Other Desired Qualifications * Experience with SQL * Experience with Azure or AWS * Basic understanding of Agile * Familiarity with version control software such as GitHub * Familiarity with Defect and Feature tracking software such as Jira * Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment * Data visualization technologies such as Microsofts PowerBI Job Types: Part-time, Internship Salary: $15.00 to $25.00 /hour Experience: * Web Development: 1 year (Preferred) * Software Development: 1 year (Preferred) Work Location: * Remote/Work from home * One location Working days: * Monday * Tuesday * Wednesday * Thursday * Friday Hours per week: * 30-39 Typical start time: * 9AM Typical end time: * 5PM
