Internship GIS Minneapolis, MN Office Is Internship: Yes Paid Internship: Yes EWG is seeking a part-time intern for its Minneapolis, MN office. The GIS Intern will work in a fast-paced environment, assisting the Agriculture and Natural Resources team with various conservation related projects focused around drinking water. ( Cover Crops , Animal Feeding Operations , Source Water ). Interns will gain knowledge and experience while contributing to research projects at EWG . Responsibilities: Assist with the development, deployments and maintenance of geospatial scripts and models Assist production of on the fly figures, graphics and maps to support organizational needs Qualifications: Pursuing a degree/certificate in GIS or closely related field Excellent communication skills General computer skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ESRI ArcGIS products Knowledgeable of GIS concepts and tools, as well as geospatial data collection. Exposure to open source GIS and databases programs are a plus. Learning Objective for Internship and Work Sample created: Using GIS to communicate a story How GIS is used in advocacy work Best practices for GIS collection FAQs about GIS Internship: Length of Internship: 8-10 weeks Start/End Dates of Internships: This is flexible based on the interns school start/end dates/ Preferred start is in late May/early June for summer internships and late August/early September for fall internships. Internship Hour Commitments: Summer internship is twenty-eight (28) to thirty-two (32) hours per week. Fall Internship is between sixteen (16) to twenty-four (24) hours per week. Days/Hours of Internship: The internship is between the hours of 9 AM 6 PM, Monday through Friday. There are NO weekend or evening hours.
