Mechanical Engineering Intern- San Francisco, CA (Enovity) Veolia - San Francisco, CA3.6 4 hours agoFull-timeEstimated: $37,000 - $49,000 a year Apply Now Education * Bachelor's Degree * High School Diploma or GED Skills * Leadership Experience * Mechanical Knowledge The Mechanical Engineering Intern will be primarily responsible for assisting energy engineers , project managers , and project executives who are actively engaged in developing technical energy solutions for our clients . The day-to-day tasks for this position are highly variable , and j ob responsibilities will increase commensurate with the interns ability . With the assistance of Enovity engineers , the Mechanical Engineering Intern will: Review conceptual and schematic level design plans for new construction projects in the commercial building space Performing detailed energy modeling to determine the baseline energy consumption for client facilities (commercial building space) Evaluate the effectiveness of commercial buildings within Enovitys operations and maintenance portfolio, via the use of smart building technologies Assist with on-site energy audits and reports Assist with the development of testing and commissioning procedures and reports Create and maintain energy baselines for select clients Perform asset validation at existing commercial buildings within Enovitys operations and maintenance portfolio Qualifications Key Qualifications Candidate for a Bachelors of Science in E ngineering , preferably Mechanical Introductory level knowledge of thermodynamics Valued Experience: Previous e xperience with consulting engineering firm(s) focused on applying proven components to a prescribed set of requirements Previous experience with energy efficiency Knowledge of building mechanical and electrical systems, including boilers, chillers, electrical switchgear, emergency generation, and building management systems Required Characteristics: Highly motivated individual who derives satisfaction from the delivery exceptional work product that assists the client fulfilling their needs Excellent communications skills with the ability to interact and present challenging concepts to all levels of a c lients origination, from operational management to senior leadership Selfless attitude with the ability to contribute in a dynamic and evolving team environment Highly developed leadership skills Ability to receive, incorporate, and grow from constructive criticism The work environment is a professional , business casual office setting located close to mass transit in San Franciscos Financial District . This position may include field work and/or travel (< 10 %) to client sites .
