Research Assistant (Paid Intern) ACCESS - Dearborn, MI4.0 Part-timeEstimated: $26,000 - $34,000 a year Education * Master's Degree Skills * Data Collection * Microsoft Office Job Title: Research Assistant (Intern) Employment Status: Temporary Part-Time Paid Intern (June 3rd July 31st) Job Summary: Under direct supervision, the research assistant will contribute to the agencys participation in the State Data Advocacy to Support a Culture of Health collaborative project by conducting outreach to organizations and populations of interest, conducting research, and analyzing data for relevant trends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct research on state agency and survey data collection standards for the states of Illinois and Michigan. Compile information on coalitions working on/interested in data disaggregation in Illinois and Michigan. Compile information about the political make up of the state and advocacy capacity. Interface with ACCESS national programs to collect information about affiliate organizations. Interface with agencies and government bodies to assess capacity for advocacy. May participate in planning meetings with project management. Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: Advanced knowledge in best practices of data collection and analysis Skill in: Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including Microsoft Office. Ability to: Work both independently and as part of a team, in a highly efficient and organized manner Work on several projects concurrently, prioritize and complete in timely manner Track progress on tasks and handle follow-up as needed Maintain high level of attention to detail Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Provide a high level of customer service. Be constructive, flexible and calm under pressure Educational/Previous Experience Requirements: Minimum Degree Required: Masters degree Required Disciplines: Social sciences, public policy, or public health ~and~ Research experience with Arab American communities preferred. Working Conditions: Hours: Normal business hours. Some additional hours may be required. Travel required: none Working Environment: Climate controlled office environment during normal business hours.
