Research Intern University of Arizona - Tucson, AZ $28,000 a year Internship Position Summary The College of Medicine-Phoenix is currently accepting applications for a Research Intern position. The successful candidate is expected to perform laboratory experiments for a funded research program in the area of molecular, cellular, and/or neurobiology. This position supports graduate training in various multidisciplinary campus departments, including Basic Medical Sciences and Child Health, as well as the Center for Applied NanoBioscience and Medicine, the Department of Internal Medicine and others. Duties & Responsibilities * Perform independent experiments and carry out laboratory research. * Perform experiments that may include behavioral, cellular, immunological, microbiological, molecular, physiological, bioengineering and/or virological assays. * Perform experimental animal surgery, tissue culture or modeling studies. * Perform analysis using microscopy, imaging or behavioral approaches. * Maintain detailed records of experiments, analyzing and writing up results, and troubleshooting. * Design experiments and contribute to the preparation of research posters, manuscripts and grant applications, as needed. * There may be additional duties assigned as it relates to the position. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Minimum Qualifications * Graduate student currently accepted into the Clinical Translational Sciences Ph.D. graduate program at the University of Arizona. * Bachelors degree in Biology or related area. Preferred Qualifications * Knowledge of cancer biology, immunology, neuroscience, or physiology are preferred. * Adept at basic computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and an ability to learn statistical and graphing programs (such as Prism Graph Pad, Adobe Photoshop, etc.). * Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing. * Ability to work independently under PI supervision.
