Internship (LTI) Coordinator Big Picture Educational Academy - Fresno, CA OVERALL OBJECTIVE AND SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Associate Principal, the Internship (LTI) Coordinator uses independent analysis and judgment to develop, coordinate, and supervise complex and varied administrative tasks in order to provide exemplary career services to the campus community. The position encompasses many different areas of responsibility such as but not limited to: Pursuit of adult mentors, internship possibilities for students, community event planning, and teacher training in the LTI system, teacher evaluation in the LTI System, Professional training in the ImBlaze program and coordinator, and evaluation of the use of the ImBlaze program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide leadership in the development and implementation of a viable internship program in partnership. * Facilitate student learning by assisting students to properly use the ImBlaze program to secure appropriate internships to enhance the overall academic experience and learn skills essential to conduct a successful internship search. * Work collaboratively with faculty and administration to create procedures for the proper use and knowledge of the ImBlaze program. * Work alongside faculty and academic departments to identify problems or concerns with the ImBlaze program. * Help to develop and revise internship policies and procedures. * Identify and monitor current needs within the ImBlaze program. * Plan and conduct ImBlaze workshops and information programs. * Help develop an internship manual and materials and updates as needed. * Research appropriate websites and resources to support the internship program. * Assess the effectiveness of ImBlaze program. * Assist staff with any questions or concerns regarding the use and application of the ImBlaze program. * Assist staff in the development of employer relations through verbal and written communications and how the ImBlaze program relates to those relationships. * Maintain ImBlaze database administration for purposes of tracking. * Coordinate and assist other staff with various events and activities throughout the year (employer exploration days, career fairs, etc.) * Assist in marketing the LTI program by developing appropriate materials as well as advertising special events. * Communicate and coordinate with the official ImBlaze team to provide feedback and relate concerns of our staff. * Determine what incoming information from the ImBlaze team via mail, email, and text needs to be communicated to the campus community; independently drafts correspondence. * Design, coordinate, implement, monitor, and manage the Learning Through Interest Program to connect students with adult mentors in the community that includes: * Observation and monitoring of students at learning sites * Coordination of mentoring of students by community and staff mentors * Training, supervision, and evaluation of mentors to work with students successfully * Conducting short-term and long-term planning to meet individual student needs * Collection, analysis, and management of data related to requirements for each student * Development of a plan for and implementation of data collection and analysis for decision-making * Providing regular program evaluative feedback to the Principal and stakeholders with suggested plans for amelioration of any targeted areas of concern * Proactively seeking of sources and connections for learning experiences * Soliciting, developing, managing, and creating partnerships, sites, with local organizations * Overseeing mentor background checks, internship contracting and overall compliance standards for mentoring * Organizing communication with internship mentors * Organizing and coordinating on-site mentors and expert volunteers * Collaborate with the administrative staff to ensure systemic planning and implementation of school-wide initiatives * Contribute to the coordination, alignment, and implementation of a learning and assessment system that includes exhibitions, portfolios, advisories and project-based learning for students with local learning goals * Continue professional growth of method and technique improvements by attending workshops, professional meetings or conferences, and keeping abreast of current educational innovations through professional literature * Develop and provide the programmatic structure for ongoing, meaningful opportunities for families to be involved in students experiences and the school community * Assist with development and appropriate communication and training for the parent learning community * Use technology for communication, presentations, training, and workshops * Possess knowledge of and adhere to school procedures and policies * Participate in special projects as assigned and perform related duties and key responsibilities consistent with the scope and intent of the position * Assist with the ongoing design and implementation of the vision, core values, and guiding principles for the school * Assist with the creation of a school culture that promotes the ongoing improvement of learning and teaching for students and staff including routines and systems necessary for the daily function and operation of the school * Demonstrate a commitment to closing the achievement gap through strategic planning, research, and data analysis * Support and foster an environment for school safety: physical, emotional and intellectual in order for effective teaching and learning to take place * Supervise students within the school and at school-sponsored events, including disciplinary procedures, records, and actions * Implement the philosophy of educating one student at a time through personalized learning that expands beyond academic work * Perform other duties as assigned by the associate principal QUALIFICATION A successful candidate will believe in the core values of Big Picture Educational Academy and be driven by its mission. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university; Masters degree with an emphasis in educational leadership preferred. Experience: Five (5) years of successful teaching or administrative experience in diverse public secondary schools and effective work with school-age students. Preference is given to previous work experience in a Big Picture School or with the Big Picture Learning Network. Prior experience coaching and training adult learners. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION Must be able to complete before hiring: Certificates & Licenses: Valid CA State drivers license and appropriate insurance required. Must maintain as current any certification or license listed herein and held at hire date. Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance Continuing Educ. /Training: Maintaining current knowledge of curricular requirements, evaluation frameworks, and state and federal mandates. PHYSICAL ABILITIES * Ability to communicate with students * Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to handle instructional materials and to file materials. * Written Ability and eligibility to drive a motor vehicle * Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard * Stand for long periods of time. WORK ENVIRONMENT This position works in a variety of settings including classroom and outdoors and may experience heat or cold extremes as well as fumes, odors, dust; noise level is moderate to loud.
