The IGM is housed in the campus newest research building, spanning ~25,000 square feet of laboratory and office/desk space in a highly interactive setting. The Computational Genomics Groups, led by Dr. Peter White, supports the Institutes computational biology, bioinformatics and clinical informatics needs, performing cutting edge genomics research in the area of human genetics, with a particular focus on cancer, congenital heart disease and rare genetic disorders. Responsibilities What Will You Be Doing? We are looking for a part time student to join our team as a research aid to assist with analysis of sequencing experiments and statistical interpretation of datasets. Additional opportunities will be provided to gain experience in the wet bench aspects of our research, enabling the individual to develop molecular biology skills required in genomics research. This will be a great opportunity to gain real-world research experience and develop long term career goals. Qualifications What Are We Looking For? Must have a desire to pursue a career in Research Biology, Computational Biology or Medicine Some experience with computer science desired A good understanding of molecular biology, genetics, genomics or computational biology
