Research Intern Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group PC - Rockville, MD InternshipEstimated: $33,000 - $41,000 a year Skills * Microsoft Word * Microsoft Powerpoint * Analysis Skills PURPOSE The Research Intern will support the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Research Institute (MAPRI) in a project support capacity and reports to the Managing Director. The Intern will support project managers and/or research scientists across multiple initiatives, including clinical trials and observational study management, and advancing strategic initiatives for the Research Institute. Intern positions are temporary and do not come with benefits. RESPONSIBILITIES Supports project managers and research scientists in MAPRI, helping to meaningfully advance project progress. Manages tasks, timelines, action items and follow up items. Develops and maintains strong business relationships with community members and community leaders. Creates presentations for scientists and physician executives. Performs basic data management, literature reviews, and assists with grant proposal and manuscript/abstract preparations. Delivers high quality results on time. Assists in the development of surveys and study databases. QUALIFICATIONS Student working towards Bachelors degree in public health, health policy, or biological sciences. Project management, communications and/or health policy experience preferred. Strong organizational, communication and analytical skills required. Demonstrated interest in working in health care delivery. Good written and verbal communication. Strong experience in integrating input from multiple sources and developing cohesive and actionable insights. Highly proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience with creating surveys and databases (e.g. SurveyMonkey and Access) preferred. Ability to perform literature searches and references organization. Ability to express complex information to non-science audiences. Experience working on teams, as well as independently and autonomously. Education Preferred Bachelors or better
