The Distinguished Events intern will support staff in fundraising, planning, and executing multiple golf tournaments that benefit the American Cancer Society. They will provide hands-on help before, during, and after the events, plus gain exposure to nonprofit management, donor stewardship, and large-scale event planning. Description/Duties: * Provide administrative support leading up to events via data entry, placing orders with vendors, devising event literature (i.e. table signs, auction certificates, etc.), transporting necessities to venue, and more * Attend and assist during events (if school schedule allows). This includes setup and breakdown. * Help train and manage event volunteers * Help closeout golf tournaments through financial reconciliation, generating acknowledgement letters, and sending sponsor stewardship packets * Other duties as assigned Position Requirements: * Skills: Strong writing and communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; able to work independently and with a team; great attention to detail; keen ability to multitask and prioritize * Schedule: This is a part-time position for 15 hours per week during the 2019 fall semester. The work schedule for this internship is flexible and can be determined based on the interns school classes. Normal office hours are 9:00am-5:00pm. Work may extend beyond office hours during the week of the events. Qualifications: * Full-time student at the sophomore level or above * Minimum of a B average (cumulative 3.0 on 4.0 scale) Save lives. Fulfill yours.
