Nonprofit Management Internship- Fall Big Brothers Big Sisters - Irving, TX4.4 Part-timeEstimated: $20,000 - $27,000 a year Education * High School Diploma or GED Agency Description: Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists for the purpose of placing caring adults in the lives of children in one-to-one mentoring relationships. Through the positive impact of those friendships, children with a Big Brother or Big Sister are more likely to graduate from high school and are less likely to begin using drugs, begin drinking alcohol or engage in negative conflict. Since 1927, our staff has worked carefully with both the volunteers and the children to ensure that the experience of Big Brothers Big Sisters is one that is dynamic, fulfilling, memorable and enjoyable for both the child and the volunteer. What We Are Looking For: An ideal candidate would be a dedicated and hard-working student majoring in public health, public affairs, political science, general business, business administration, nonprofit management, administration, fundraising, or other related field. An individual who has an interest in working in nonprofits as a career choice is preferred. Position Summary: This is a flexible, unpaid, part-time (approximately 15-20 hours a week) Nonprofit Management internship position. The intern will report directly to the Engagement Manager. It is necessary for the intern to actively participate in both the development team and programming team efforts within the agency. The intern will have the following responsibilities: * Assist Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Dallas with general fundraising efforts within the organization * Execute system of thanking corporate and individual donors for their partnership * Plan and execute donor stewardship strategies which may include events and campaigns * Manage calendars, emails, and data information * Provide research and prospecting support in search of new donors and funders * Perform other administrative duties for the Dallas office and personnel when appropriate * Uphold professionalism in an ever-growing nonprofit organization Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Internship Education: * High school or equivalent (Required) Work authorization: * United States (Required)
