Political Science Intern (Campaign assistant) Company: Wade for Mayor Political Campaign Location: San Jose Posted on: May 31, 2019 Job Description: Location: San Jose, California Title: Political Science Intern (Campaign assistant) Duration: Through November 2018 Full Time and Part Time position Description: Political Science Intern (Campaign assistant) should have two-to-three cycles of campaign experience or comparable. Job Summary We are seeking an enrolled college student who wants a Political Science internship that will give them hands-on experience as they help assist our candidate run for City Council in the City of South Pasadena, CA. The selected intern candidate will be expected to immerse themselves in all things campaign related, but will also be given opportunities to excel and distinguish ones self. Position Type: Internship, Unpaid Your commitment to us: Minimum of 4 months Minimum of 15hrs per week Responsibilities and Duties Complete daily activities that have been assigned by their mentor Be expected to create the following, but not limited to: Press releases Op-ed publication Speeches Campaign material Be expected to also conduct certain tasks, but not limited to: Biography development research Analytics and assessment of demographics and other necessary topics General administrative duties Management of social media Other miscellaneous campaigning tasks Qualifications and Skills Currently enrolled in college or graduate Education, Political Science, English, Literature, or Communications major preferred Preferably Junior status or higher Minimum commitment of at least four months Has knowledge of basic computer/software skills Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) Punctual and communicates efficiently Ability to work in a fast-paced, competitive, business environment Knowledge of Social Media (i.e. Facebook, Linkedin, Instagram, twitter, etc) Ability to work in our Alhambra office, virtually, and out in the field Must have dependable form of transportation Job Type: Internship Required experience: Campaigning: 1 year Required license or certification: Driver's License
