Job Details Intern--RF Systems Job Code Number 9858141 Job Description 1998BR Title: Intern--RF Systems Job Description: SRI International is a nonprofit, independent research center serving government and industry moving R&D from the laboratory to the marketplace to create high value and real innovation. Lead and participate in multi-disciplinary, collaborative teams and contribute to the development of state-of-the-art remote sensing solutions and surveillance technologies. Relevant sensor types include active/passive radar and electro-optic/infrared imaging systems. Projects will include the development of advanced sensor concepts to exploit new and unique phenomenology, and the associated design and validation activities. Primary responsibilities include: Conceptualizing, designing, fabricating, testing and demonstrating modular and scalable RF systems and subsystems, from HF through W-Band. Tasks may involve RF systems analysis and synthesis, RF circuit design and the design of supporting analog and digital electronics, resulting in high-performance prototypes for laboratory and field demonstrations and prospective transition to operational implementations. Designs may incorporate integrated subassemblies comprised of surface-mount components with strip-line interconnects on printed circuit substrates and/or modules with coaxial interconnects, as appropriate. Defining requirements and designs in support of end-to-end system performance, including antennas, transmitters and receivers, will be necessary. Additional tasks include defining software and system interfaces, system integration and testing, and field support to experiments and demonstrations. Anticipated work products include written reports and preparation and delivery of presentations and project proposals.
