Apprenticeship Recruitment Oahu at Honolulu Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee Honolulu, HI 96817 About the Job HONOLULU JOINT APPRENTICESHIP and TRAINING COMMITTEE FOR THE PLUMBING & PIPEFITTING INDUSTRY TRAINING FACILITY: 720 Iwilei Road, Suite 222 * Honolulu, Hawaii 96817 * Ph: (808) 456-0585 * Fax: (808) 456-7131 APPRENTICESHIP RECRUITMENT OAHU The Honolulu Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for the Plumbing & Pipefitting Industry will be establishing waiting lists for the Plumber, Fire Sprinkler Fitter, and Steamfitter Welder apprenticeship programs on the island of Oahu. Interested persons may apply at: PLACE: Plumbers & Fitters Training Facility 720 Iwilei Road, Suite 222 Honolulu, Hawaii 96817 DATE: June 10, 2019 through June 24, 2019 Closed on weekends and Tuesday, June 11, 2019 in observance of King Kam Day TIME: 8:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Each applicant must meet the following qualifications: 1. Be not less than seventeen (17) years of age. 2. Have a valid Hawaii Drivers License. 3. Provide evidence of being a high school graduate or have a General Educational Development (G.E.D.) certificate or equivalent. 1. Provide official transcript of high school records, and transcript of trade school courses, if any. 2. Take a Placement Evaluation test (to be taken at a later date) and satisfactorily pass with a minimum score of 70-percent. 3. If Applicable, provide validated previous experience. Applicants may apply for only one (1) program and must pay an application fee of $20.00 at the time of applying (non-refundable). We accept Cash, Credit Card, Money Order or Check. Make checks payable to: PAMCAH-UA LOCAL 675 TRAINING FUND. Any returned checks will be charged a $20.00 handling fee and applications will be withheld from further processing until full payment has been made. All required documents (high school diploma or G.E.D., high school transcript, post high school trade courses (if any), valid drivers license) must be received by 3:00 p.m. on June 28, 2019. If accepted as an apprentice, an agreement for each year of apprenticeship training (called a Scholarship Loan Agreement) which provides that you will reimburse the JATC for the cost of training if you perform plumbing, pipefitting, refrigeration air conditioning, fire sprinkler, or steamfitterwelder work for a contractor who has not signed a collective bargaining agreement with UA Local 675, must be signed. Men and women meeting the above minimum and specific qualifications will be interviewed and may be placed as eligible applicants on the waiting list. The waiting lists will consist of twenty-five (25) applicants each from which the JATC may select to become apprentices in the Plumber, Fire Sprinkler Fitter, and Steamfitter Welder programs. The Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee has adopted an affirmative action plan. They have pledged the recruitment, selection, employment, and training of apprentices during their apprenticeship shall be without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), sexual orientation, genetic information, age, disability, marital status, domestic or sexual violence victim status, credit history or report, arrest and court record, or on any other basis prohibited by �378-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, provided that the sponsor may refuse to accept an individual for apprenticeship or refuse to refer an individual for employment for reasons allowed under Federal and state law.
