Job Information Safran METHODS/MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING INTERN in Everett, Washington METHODS/MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING INTERN2019-05-31T23:04:28.767 Job description Safran Ventilation Systems USA, LLC is currently looking for a Methods/Manufacturing Engineering student who can start working part-time during the school year and full time during the summer months. This internship will be from April 1, 2019 through August 31, 2019. This position will:1. Collaborate and support Methods/Manufacturing Engineering Specialist and Product Support Engineer on OEM and MRO shop operations to implement process improvements.2. Collect and analyze data on manufacturing methods and repair process flow and write or update standard operating procedures and specific manufacturing/repair routines.3. Perform time studies, work content/breakdown and work flow analysis, help develop value stream maps and spaghetti diagrams; help implement and maintain 5-S and visual workplace.4. Support continuous improvement ideas in order to improve safety, quality, productivity and cost and be able to analyze defects or process errors using 5-Whys and Root Cause Analysis. Job requirements * * Must be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program majoring in manufacturing engineering * * Familiar with lean manufacturing concepts * * Ability to effectively communicate and work in a team environment * * Some knowledge of engineering principles, theories, technologies and manufacturing work organization * * Able to understand technical data and to analyze results and present reports * * Ability to work with MS Office computer applications * * Fluent in English (written and verbal) Complementary description 1. The physical ability to perform manual labor requiring climbing, balancing, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 20 pounds regularly.2. The worker is subject to exposure to noise, vibration, chemicals and other related industrial hazards.3. Vocal communication, hearing and visual acuity are required for safety, direction and the exchange of ideas in the industrial environment.
