Position Summary:We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Student Research Intern.In this role, the successful candidate NYU School of Medicines Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center seeks a highly motivated and technically skilled Masters in Public Health summer/early Fall intern responsible for providing direct data collection and analysis in support of one of the Cancer Centers prestige community-based screening programs. This opportunity would provide a student with exposure to a world-class academic medical center, experienced Principal Investigators, and an ability to contribute to designing data collection methods for a newly launched research study. Job Responsibilities: * Compiles data and assists in consolidating and analyzing data for presentation to sponsoring agencies. Reviews data with supervisor and then provides reports to all parties (e.g., data and safety monitoring committee, the principal investigator, sponsoring agency, etc.) on the progress of the study and program deliverables. * Utilizes established methodologies to collect patient information for the research project(s) and program deliverables; gathers and compiles data, statistics and other materials as needed. Inputs clinical and non-clinical data into databases. Extracts data for publications. May perform library searches and retrieve reference materials from various sources; request articles from medical journals. * Ensures protocol compliance. Follows standard steps regarding eligibility criteria, follow-up process and documentation. * Collaborates with various personnel that may be involved in assisting with specific aspects in the study. * Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures of the host institution where the study is being conducted, including the regulatory requirements such as IRB and other approvals if necessary. Minimum Qualifications:To qualify you must have a Matriculated student in a Masters in Public Health programEffective oral, written, communication, and interpersonal skillsMust be able to work under the direction of supervisionAbility to operate research related equipmentProficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with REDCap and internet applications.Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
