Job Details Title Intern Communications (Temporary) Posting ID Intern Communications (Temporary) Description Kansas City, MO School District Intern Communications JOB POSTING Job Details Title Intern Communications Posting ID Intern Communications Description KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Job Title: Intern Communications (Television Broadcasting and Videography) Job Title Code: Salary Grade: Department: Communications Reports To: Marketing Manager FLSA Status: Date Prepared: May 2019 PURPOSE OF JOB: The responsibilities for this internship in the Department of Communications in the operational aspects of the Districts television station program and assistance with creation and existing video footage. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Write, edit and coordinate production of professional, informative and creative print publications and digital media Establish a dynamic and robust online presence for KCPS-TV using social media campaigns to engage and influence key audiences; integrate online campaigns with traditional communication channels Create content where needed to support project needs (examples include: the production of professional development videos, KCPS-TV website videos, School Board Meetings, Athletic Events and more ) Create content and program Time Warner 18 (KCPS-TV) Update KCPS-TV content to the district news website and YouTube channel. Provide communications and marketing support for KCPS athletic and extra-curricular programs and KCPS-TV Record video for KCPS and school events Special Projects ( examples include: Convocation, Graduations, Press Conferences ) Other Duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Kansas City Public Schools current or past student Experience in Television Broadcasting and Production and/or Newsroom Management Knowledge of current trends in Television Broadcasting and Production and Career and Technical Education Knowledge of current trends in Videography PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills (oral and written), and leadership skills Time management skills, ability to prioritize PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job requires that the employee be able to: sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, reach with hands and fingers; bend, stoop, lift objects of at least ten pounds.
