Position: Director of Corporate Programs and Apprenticeships Position Summary: The Director of Corporate Programs and Apprenticeships is responsible for the administration and project management of the technical divisions corporate programs and apprenticeships. The Director is a key participant in the institutions strategic planning efforts. The Director provides leadership and supervision in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the technical divisions corporate programs and apprenticeships. In addition, the Director will assist with the implementation of the technical divisions instructional plan and advises on and administers the division budget as it relates to corporate programs and apprenticeships. Salary Range: $58,859.00 to $85,987.00, based upon the Alabama Community College System and Shelton State Community College Salary Schedule C3-1, to be determined by the applicants verified education and years of applicable work experience. Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Demonstrate effective leadership and advanced written and oral communication skills * Assist the Associate Dean of Technical Services in the supervision of the technical divisions instructional units as it relates to corporate programs and apprenticeships consistent with the Colleges vision statement, Statement of Purpose, and the institutional goals and objectives of the College * Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Technical Services and the Director of Training for Business and Industry in sustaining the orderly growth, development, and continuous improvement of technical curriculum as it relates to corporate programs and apprenticeships * Work with business and industry, faculty, staff, administrators, and key stakeholders in the development and delivery of credit programs for various companies as it relates to corporate programs and apprenticeships * Serve as the key point-of-contact between business and industry and the Workforce and Economic Development division as it relates to the growth of corporate programs and apprenticeships * Develop and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers * Communicate corporate program schedules and processes to the appropriate College departments * Work with business and industry and the appropriate College departments to develop and manage the budgets that pertain to corporate programs and apprenticeships * Negotiate and develop contracts and agreements as the same relate to corporate programs and apprenticeships * Work with the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship to create new apprenticeships * Enroll apprentices in RAPIDS database and track apprentice training progress until completion or termination of training * Prepare competitive bids and procure equipment for corporate programs and apprenticeships * Create and communicate reports to business and industry regarding student and program progress as needed * Provide leadership in the development of grant proposals as applicable * Administer the logistics of onboarding new apprentices * Provide leadership in the academic advising and recruiting of technical students for corporate programs and apprenticeships * Maintain effective communication among all instructional units of the technical division and the community at large * Assist the Associate Dean of Technical Services in coordinating recruiting and marketing efforts for the technical division as it relates to corporate programs * Work with government agencies and business and industry to develop registered apprenticeships * Assist the Associate Dean of Technical Services in developing and evaluating instructional curriculum, programs, and services that meet community needs * Assist the Associate Dean of Technical Services and technical Division Chairs in the preparation and evaluation of the schedule of classes for the technical divisions corporate programs and apprenticeships * Formulate and implement an annual budget that supports the Mission, Vision, and Institutional Goals and objectives of the College, related goals of instructional units and the operational needs of the technical division as it relates to corporate programs and apprenticeships * Prepare institutional reports as requested by internal and external sources * Assist the Office of Institutional Research in the analysis of statistical data as it relates to corporate programs and apprenticeships * Demonstrate an effective level of technological knowledge, skills, and abilities to: * Use a microcomputer and commonly used application software * Communicate via voice mail and e-mail * Conduct internet searches, queries, and research for professional purposes * Comply with policies of the Alabama Community College System and the College * Serve on College committees as required * Participate in professional development, compliance, performance excellence, and training activities as required * Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor Required Qualifications: * Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution * Three years of full-time teaching experience in technical education at the collegiate level or three years of experience directly supervising or managing USDOL apprenticeship training programs * Experience with Microsoft Office, windows-based databases, or common applications software, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint * Effective written and oral communication skills Application Procedures: Shelton State Community College employment announcements and applications are available at sheltonstate.edu/about-us/employment/ or by contacting the Office of Human Resources.
