Data Solutions Intern Data Solutions Intern - Are you passionate about data? Do you know how to turn insights into products or programs that can drive incremental revenue? In this role, the Data Scientist I will leverage advanced analytics and machine learning concepts to develop and analyze predictive models to assist the business in gaining efficiencies and reducing costs. Job Expectations ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES � Search for patterns in data that can provide solutions to business problems or create new business opportunities � Research, design, implement and validate cutting-edge models to analyze diverse sources of data to achieve targeted outcomes � Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems � When applicable, extend the companys data with third party sources of information � Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of data used for analysis � Perform ad-hoc & exploratory data analysis and present results in a clear manner � Develop clear and concise visuals of analytical outcomes BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE) � Currently persuing Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, Advanced Analytics or a related discipline � Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, Logistic Regression, XGBoost, etc. � Familiarity with developing SQL scripts � Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills � Experience using Microsoft PowerBI or other visualization solution � Experience using Microsoft Azure, HDInsight or other cloud-based data storage / computing technology � Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other RDBMS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES � Must present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors � Must have proficient computer skills; previous experience with an ERP system (i.e. Eclipse, Mincron) is an asset � Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and ever-changing industry � Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required � Must have excellent customer service skills with the ability to sell product to a wide range of customers both in-person and by phone � Must be able to work positively within a team environment � Must be able to learn quickly and have a desire to succeed � Must have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify solutions with minimal assistance � Regular, timely attendance is required to meet customer needs in an efficient and effective manner Time Type Part time At MORSCO, our commitment to excellent customer service is just part of our story.
