Job Title Substation Construction Technician Apprentice Employment Type Starting Pay Range Posting Date Full-time $23.37 - $23.37 6/4/2019 Employment Classification Division Closing Date Temporary Energy Delivery 6/19/2019 CORE COMPETENCIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES Job Technical Skills Under direct supervision, this position assists in construction and repair of substation facilities to provide a reliable electrical service for LES customers. Assists with repair, troubleshoot, install, test and maintain the substation electrical equipment to obtain an optimum level of availability, reliability, and safety. Assists in developing, implementing and maintaining the preventive maintenance schedules and procedures as they apply to energized and de-energized substation structures and facilities. * Assists with installation and repair of ground grid, conduit, insulators, switches, bus work, steel structures, circuit switchers, motor operators, reactor banks, capacitor banks and yard lights. * Assists with the operation and maintenance of substation power equipment and tools when work requirements dictate. * Follows all safety rules, policies, procedures, required trainings, etc. Ability to Apply Concepts The ideal candidate understands and uses material taught in the classroom and on the job training in work situations. Applies information provided in training to work tasks. Desires and shows willingness to learn new assignments, procedures, and technologies.
