Marketing Communications Intern Job Locations US-OK-Norman Job ID 2019-6815 Category Other Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Overview The Marketing Communications internship is designed to provide well-rounded exposure to marketing and communications functions, while fulfilling work assignments in a support capacity. Working with our Corporate Communications Team, this position will assist the organization in the development and implementation of marketing and communication efforts. This Position provides great experience working as part of a team to build and implement content writing, social media marketing, internal communications and marketing materials. The Marketing Communications internship will provide a great opportunity to have fun, while gaining experience and insight into marketing and communications for a mid-size organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Work is performed in seven primary areas: Marketing Materials/Content Writing Uses Chickasaw Nation Industries existing brand guidelines to assist in creating compelling marketing materials such as brochures, banners, advertisements, PowerPoint presentations, etc. Assists in writing and editing marketing materials to include articles, marketing materials, social media, PowerPoint presentations and collateral. Social Media Assists with social media efforts, including the creation of posts on CNIs Facebook and LinkedIn accounts. Website Attends website development meetings, and learns the process of working with a developer to create consistent brand standards. Branding Upholds CNI brand standards. Assists in reviewing proofs for CNI brand standards, managing promotional items inventory, and offering suggestions. Campaigns Assists in planning and implementation of marketing campaigns. Explores and propose updates, enhancements and new options for meeting campaign goals through marketing efforts. Measures and tracks results through employee surveys. Vendor Relations Assists in working with marketing vendors for printed materials and promotional items. Other Duties Supports other miscellaneous tasks, as assigned, such as marketing brainstorming and strategic planning. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company. Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisors instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a relevant college degree program at the time the internship will be served � either at the graduate or upper undergraduate level. Enrollment in a Business degree program with a Marketing emphasis preferred. Background check may be conducted. Must have an acceptable GPA. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
