Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Start date is flexible but preference is July 1 st This is a full-time, temporary, AFT position, and days of work and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Note: This position is in the NL category of employment (non-fixed work week) An AFT- NL professional staff member or librarian who is required to work beyond 35 hours shall be compensated through compensatory time off. Compensatory time shall be earned for hours worked beyond the normal work week, or on an employees regular day off, if requested and approved by their supervisor. JOB SUMMARY A Pre-Doctoral Psychology Intern in the Center for Health and Counseling Services is responsible to a NJ licensed psychologist and provides individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, psycho-educational programming, and consultation to the College community which includes faculty, staff, and students. DUTIES Conducts clinical assessments & makes referrals to community-based services when appropriate Conducts individual and group counseling Provides crisis intervention to students Writes clinical case reports and notes Provides prevention and educational outreach services regarding mental health related issues Assists in data collection of on-going clients and satisfaction with counseling services Consults with other departments within the Division of Student Affairs on mental health issues Provides training to student groups, faculty, and professional staff regarding mental health issues May provide supervision to graduate practicum students Hours may vary depending on the needs of the department and College and will include certain evening hours and holidays when classes are in session. Occasional weekend work (e.g., College Orientations, First-Year Student Move-in Day, Admitted Students Day) will be required. REQUIRMENTS EDUCATION Enrolled in a doctoral program in clinical, counseling or school psychology. Has completed all required coursework and comprehensive examination. Defended dissertation proposal (preferred).
