Ameritas Life Insurance Corp is seeking a Shared Services IT Intern to drive the business by learning and performing work in areas including business analysis, operations analysis, and knowledge management. This exciting internship opportunity will provide exposure to some or all of these functions: Business Analysis * Support requirements elicitation and requirements management by learning standard B.A. processes/methods/frameworks. * Document business requirements and engage with business partners and IT peers to validate requirements Operations Analysis * Support the development and continuous improvement of operational business metrics that help define and measure the Shared Service IT team (Service Level Agreements, Categorization of incidents/requests, Data visualization and reporting, Project Metrics, etc.) * Assess and improve operational processes and tools that support Incident Reporting, Work Request In-Take, Work Assignment. Knowledge Management * Drive the development and implementation of a knowledge repository for the Shared Services IT team (e.g., train associates on tool, define required documentation, design collaboration workspace(s)) * Facilitate the development of process documentation and system documentation Business Systems Administration * Assist with application software package updates, patches, and releases * Support simple enhancement and/or break-fix requests * Support business partners in their ability to leverage applications Essential Job Functions * This internship opportunity will provide exposure to an I.T. team to a candidate who doesn't necessarily come from an I.T. educational background. * Must be willing to learn Business Analyst processes/methods/frameworks, and then immediately seize the opportunity to implement that knowledge. * This role will challenge the selected person to move outside of their comfort zone and interact with associates from all areas of the company including Sr. Leaders and I.T. professionals. * Success in this role will require a self-starter who can identify opportunities to drive projects to a successful completion with minimal guidance from others. Requirements * Must be actively enrolled in a college level degree program (associate or bachelor level will both be considered). * Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, and similar majors will be considered, but a Business major would be preferred. * Available work hours will fall between 8 am to 5 pm (Central Time) Monday-Friday. Candidate must be able to work 20 hours per week, with flexibility of schedule to accommodate classes. * Professional and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required.
