We do this by training college students to teach a robust skills-based health curriculum in under-resourced high schools across the country. Since our founding in 2003, we have trained more than 8,500 college student volunteers to deliver effective health education to over 115,000 public high school students in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Washington, DC. In 2016, PHE launched a five-year strategic plan to focus on growing our effective model while partnering with health and education systems, as well as communities to build a more integrated, sustainable model for health education.You will be joining an incredibly passionate, collaborative, and committed team working together towards our vision of advancing health equity. As the Graduate Student Evaluation and Analysis Intern you will be supporting collection, analysis and reporting on formative evaluation data as part of an impact study we will be doing during the 19-20 school year with an external evaluator. You will report directly to the Senior Manager, Program Evaluation and Systems, and will work closely with the Manager, Program Evaluation and Systems and the rest of the team. Heres what you should know: This is a part-time (15-20 hours per week), temporary (through June 2020), hourly position located in the San Francisco office, with the opportunity for occasional remote work. Heres what you will do as part of our team: Data collection and management (45%) * Support the Strategic Learning team with program evaluation activities including materials preparation, administration of data collection instruments, and coordination with sites * Provide internal evaluation support on data collection and management across multiple program sites by compiling and cleaning data to prepare for analysis * Assist in maintaining IRB and regulatory compliance for evaluations as needed Data analysis and reporting (45%) * Manage periodic updates to staff on data collection and progress to goals * Use software applications such as spreadsheets, statistical packages, and survey management platforms to assist in data analysis and the development of reports * Perform literature reviews, citation management, development of draft reports to present analyzed data to constituents * Support PHE Staff with research on best practices in program evaluation as needed General programmatic support and administrative tasks (10%) * Perform clerical duties including, but not limited to, copying, faxing, mailing and filing * Assist with other projects and tasks as needed What youll bring to the table: Minimum qualifications: * Demonstrate a strong passion for PHEs mission to empower young people with the knowledge, skills, and resourcesto make healthy decisions; strong alignment with PHEs core values * Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in education, psychology, public health, or related social sciences field * Experience with data management, cleaning, analysis, and reporting * Strong time management and organizational skills * Good interpersonal and communication skills * Proficient in Microsoft office Preferred Qualifications: * Research experience in monitoring and evaluation * Experience with the IRB application process Your turn!
