Responsibilities Dematic is currently looking for a full-time Summer Intern with potential for part-time work through the school year to join our Procurement, Process Excellence organization. This individual will support the Director of Supply Chain Process Excellence in driving improvements across our Procurement function with data-driven projects and initiatives. By creating, analyzing, synthesizing, and utilizing critical data inputs, he or she will help support improvement opportunities and implement relevant best practices across sourcing, analytics, and supplier development, which will also help accelerate improvements in quality, delivery, cost, and cash with our global supply base. This is an attractive position for students who want a hands on role that is driven by data, analytics, and Supply Chain. Primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to: * Supporting design and implement standard supply chain processes and procedures across businesses and regions, incorporating lean supply principles and best practices. * Ensuring accurate data capture to promote alignment on metrics and operating mechanisms that are part of Policy Deployment. * Assist with benchmarking new technologies and analyzing performance data to improve Dematics operational efficiencies; support SAP process blueprinting initiatives. * Benchmark current functional performance and establish quantifiable improvement targets within the supply chain. * With Director, plan, propose and execute value stream mapping and team-based continuous improvement events to execute process improvements; drive Lean thinking and practices internally and with the supply base. * Reinforce the culture of continuous improvement that promotes communication, shared learning, intelligent risk-taking, creative problem solving and an accountability for failures and successes. * Generate weekly and monthly reports and ad hoc reporting/analytical exercises for procurement sub-functions and cross-functional teams. * Develop custom tools by working with the user community to identify, standardize and streamline best practices, development of new automated tools to facilitate planning activities * Implement and deploy future software/programs. Includes working with the user community to develop processes and procedures. * Develop and maintaining infrastructure, such as SharePoint data repositories and information delivery channels. Qualifications * High School Diploma required * Pursuit of a Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience is required - must have a GPA of 3.0 or above * Experience in working environment, volunteer organization, or other role that demonstrates individual and people leadership * Strong capabilities in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs. * Knowledge or desire to learn basic training in Lean fundamentals and/or Six Sigma * Demonstrated passion for continuous improvement * Proficiency in communicating effectively both verbally and through written material. * Comfortable with ambiguity; flexible and adaptable * Strong critical thinking and analytical skills * Desire to learn company financials, risk models, and business analytics * Driven and motivated to get results; takes initiative; follows through on deliverables * Demonstrates innovation and creativity * High standard of personal and professional integrity
