Position Overview The Pharmacy Intern is responsible for making member outreach to promote proper medication use and adherence. The Pharmacy intern is also expected to assist with P and T preparation, drug information requests, data validation and other patient coordination activities. Job Description Reviews daily claims reports of varying focuses across all lines of business to identify and report on the accuracy of the pharmacy benefit configuration. Reconciles data with independent sources of verification to validate the accuracy of reports. Reviews rejection reports to identify and report on inconsistencies or concerns that may impact patient care. Assists in validating improper coding through verification between POS and UM platform systems. Coordinates care between members, pharmacies and providers to improve patient adherence for chronic medications and to promote other pharmacy initiatives. Completes medication reconciliations under the supervision of the Clinical Pharmacist. Assists in validating UM data to ensure proper review of prior authorization requests. Reviews daily reports to ensure all overrides are inputted correctly and claim adjudication is as intended. Assists in preparing documentation for internal and external audits. Assists in reviewing drug monographs and creating summaries for quarterly P and T meetings. Minimum Qualifications NY Pharmacy Intern License, required Current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy, required Pharmacy experience in a managed care environment preferred Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Proficiency with MS Access is preferred.
