If you are selected for an intern or co-op position, please note that Ameren does offer a housing stipend to interns and co-ops if minimum housing stipend requirements are met. Opportunities Available (will vary by location): * Full Time Co-ops: Jan - Aug 2019 or May - Dec 2019 * Full Time Internships: May - Aug 2019 **Majority of the positions will be Co-ops** Key responsibilities of the Student Engineer may include (will vary by location): * Duties include but are not limited to assisting engineers in the design and project management activities of new electric metering facilities. * Assist engineers in the areas of system planning, system protection, or substation design. * Working with system models to study the distribution system, perform load flow studies, evaluate equipment ratings and perform coordination studies. * Provide technical support for projects and other assignments relating to the design of electric substations. * Plan, design, budget, engineer, and manage electric construction projects related to reliability, government highway projects, system growth, and essential maintenance for the electric distribution system. * Project management of smart grid projects. Qualifications Education: Must be a Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Master's student status in Electrical Engineering from an abet accredited college or university required. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred. Cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required. Experience: Problem solving & analysis skills. Strong Microsoft Office skills preferred. Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus, but not required. Other: Good analytical, communication, and human relations skills. Adaptable and flexible. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
