At Industrial Scientific the HR Intern will serve as an integral part of the team by supporting processes and projects that have a direct impact on the business. Gaining experience in multi-functional areas such as recruitment, HR operations and employee relations. This position will coordinate various HR projects and administrative tasks while working closely with the HR Team including the VP of HR. This role will have the opportunity to be creative and use innovative problem-solving in all areas of HR. This is a summer internship with opportunity to extend into the school year on a part-time basis. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Assist in managing the exit interview process to ensure exit interviews are completed and data is compiled Assist in administration of the compensation program; write job descriptions, evaluate positions, recommend merit adjustments, promotional increases and annual adjustments to the salary structure and complete wage/salary surveys Assist with new employee orientation and onboarding programs to ensure positive employee experiences Answer employee questions related to HR policies and procedures Performs administrative duties in support of the maintenance of employee records, including personnel status updates, terminations, and new hires. Have general understanding of legal and regulatory factors affecting compensation and benefits Enters employee data into the company record keeping system. Provides administrative and reporting support for all HR related activities. Maintains a high level of integrity and discretion in the handling of confidential information. Commitment to delivering results; be solutions oriented; have good organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Solid written and verbal communication skills. Able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner Planning and Organization - establish a course of action to accomplish a specific goal; plan proper assignments of personnel and appropriate allocation of resources such as handling special events Supporting VP of HR in various tasks and projects MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Full or part-time enrollment in an accredited college or university baccalaureate program Pursuing degree in business administration, human resources, industrial psychology or related field * 0 Minimum GPA Able to work 20-40 hours per week Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Taleo, and/or ADP a plus At Fortive, we believe in you.
