Part-Time Computer Systems Technician Intern City of Westerville, OH - Westerville, OH Part-time$14 - $16 an hour Save Education * Associate's Degree Skills * Presentation Skills * Customer Service This is a part-time internship position for degree seeking students currently enrolled in a qualified program. NATURE OF WORK: Under general supervision, supports hardware, software and basic connectivity issues. Installs computers and printers. Gathers information regarding problems and implements resolutions. Documents problems and solutions. SUPERVISION: Work will be performed under the general direction of the Network Operations and/or Solutions Manager, and other team members. : ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF WORK: Assists in coordinating departmental projects and gains technical guidance through systems procedures, documentation, department work practices, IS Analysts and Engineers, Managers and IS Director. Assists with implementation of and provides support to implemented systems city-wide working with representatives from user department/divisions and third party vendors. Uses established fact-finding procedures, knowledge of pertinent work processes and procedures, and familiarity with related programs, systems software, and computer equipment to provide required analysis of HelpDesk and business related problems. Interprets and resolves user questions related to the use of personal computers and peripherals. Adapts resolution approaches successfully used in precedent systems; completed work is reviewed for timeliness, compatibility with other work, and effectiveness in meeting requirements and service level agreements. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant with respect to relevant state-of-art technology, equipment, and/or systems. May train end users on established programs. May prepare or give presentations to IS team members and user personnel. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF WORK In process of obtaining Associate Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field and considerable experience in technology systems or any equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform essential functions of work. Possesses excellent customer service, telephone support and communication skills (both oral and written). Adept at reading, writing and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals. Capable of presenting ideas and solutions in user-friendly language. Possesses keen attention to detail. Skilled at working with a team both collaboratively when required and independently when required. Has basic working knowledge of how complex systems and system components are developed, maintained and designed. Adept at multitasking while remaining customer oriented.
