Join us in making the summer a fun and dynamic learning environment. Responsibilities include assisting with planning a comprehensive program/schedule for the day camp. Work with children and provide additional support throughout the camp session (up to 9 weeks). Administrative Assistance: Interns have access to a senior and/or junior counselor and a full time Camp director. Reports to: Camp Director and/or Founder Supervises: Senior/Junior Counselors Salary/stipend: Yes Daily tasks include: Lesson/Activity plan development Set up and clean before and after camp Lead and facilitate group activities (dance, theater/drama, visual arts) Prepare craft/art and activity materials Supervise assigned senior and/or junior counselors Accompany campers on outside activities (Field Trip Friday Chaperone) Supervise daily activities of camp youth participants, enforcing program rules and ACCC Art Camp Standards Conduct campers evaluations Provide weekly written lesson/activity plan Provide newsletter contribution of discipline (theater, dance, art, music) Interns should be very flexible, have reliable transportation and have a background in the performing arts. Ability to work with all age groups, good organizational skills, be friendly, approachable and work well as part of a team. Must be a self-starter and be able to take initiative. Work hours include daytime hours (8am - 5pm). All selected candidates must display excellent customer service skills, attain First Aid and CPR, background checks, proof of major (unofficial transcript), and attend camp staff orientation. Must be a visual arts or performing arts major.
