UX Design Internship Summer 2019 Personal finance tech startup - New York, NY 16 hours agoPart-timeEstimated: $71,000 - $93,000 a year Education * Bachelor's Degree Skills * HTML5 * Copywriting * Information Architecture * WordPress * JavaScript This internship is ideally for an undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled in relevant user experience design and/or HCI program. My Financial Counsels UX Design Internship is a 10-week summer internship (with the opportunity to continue into the fall). The UX Design Intern will play an integral role in creating and refining our advisor search platform. You will be working closely with our Graduate User Research Intern, as well as with our Tech and Marketing Teams, to develop our Customer Personas and lead their implementation in order to best serve our clients. You'll be getting hands-on industry experience to prepare you for your future career in UX Design. This is a part-time, for-credit role based in NYC. This Role Will * Work directly with our Founder, Graduate User Research Intern, Tech Team, and Marketing Team * Research the user flow/experience of competitor platforms, as well as functionally-similar platforms in other industry verticals * Synthesize findings from competitor research as well as findings from the Graduate User Research Interns Customer Persona work to propose how MFC can differentiate with user experience * Work with our Developer to make UX changes to our product, and come up with ways to validate and test any changes before its full release * Monitor conversion results, conduct user testing, and iterate on user experience Job Requirements * Experience in designing search, marketplace, or matchmaking platforms * Utilize core interaction design principles and skills including concept sketching, creating interaction models, developing information architecture, and flow mapping * Knowledge of user-centered design processes and methodologies * Understanding of opportunities and constraints of multiple platforms (web, smartphones, tablets) * Experience working with Wordpress websites * Extensive experience with user interface (UI) and user experience design (UX) * Development skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus. * Ability to simultaneously manage competing priorities * Strong collaboration skills * Copywriting skills a plus * Team player, comfortable working within a small fast-paced team * Based in Brooklyn or Manhattan, NY About Us My Financial Counsel (MFC) is a company designed to match individuals with certified, fiduciary financial advisors, all while taking the headache out of the search-and-hire process.
